Thanks to the project FIABA - Training on Pupils Hygiene, Nutrition and Well-being - , five school gardens have been created in five kindergartens in the Xin Man district, necessary to integrate the food supplies of the canteens and thus improve the diet of the pupils.

These five gardens were developed in two distinct phases.

During the summer of 2021, in June and July 2021, gardens were created in the kindergartens of Doan Ket and Nam Dan, thanks to the work of preparing the land by the villagers, municipal authorities, parents and teachers.
During the autumn of 2021, the other three gardens were completed, for the schools of Kho Cha Van, Pac Phai and San Co Su.

Cultivation materials were distributed in all schools, such as wire nets, shovels, hoes, watering cans, irrigation pipes and water tanks, and various types of vegetables and fruit were planted (including cabbage, broccoli, turnips, amaranth, spring onion, spinach, peas, eggplant, sweet potato, pumpkin, tomato, papaya, banana, eggplant, eggplant).

As of today, kindergarten teachers from Nam Dan, Doan Ket, Pac Phai and Kho Cha Van have been harvesting around 25kg of vegetables every week since September 2022 (for Pac Phai and Kho Cha Van since January 2022).
The only school that has not started the vegetable harvest at the moment is that of San Co Su: being the kindergarten located in a high altitude place with a lot of fog, some vegetables died after sowing, but the teachers and parents they have agreed to replant new vegetables in a few weeks when the weather will be milder.

Here we want to share with you some photos from the five schools, in which you can see the work of the families to prepare the ground, the commitment of the school staff to take care of the garden and finally the productions that these gardens are showing.
