From 2022 to 2024, some members of the GTV board lived and worked in Cambodia.
During these years, they came into contact with stateless Vietnamese communities in Cambodia's Kampong Chhnang Province, following severe flooding. Given the dramatic situation, the association decided to commit to them and expand its reach to Cambodia with a post-emergency support project. The Vietnamese minority in Cambodia is historic, but is not recognized by either the Cambodian or Vietnamese governments. These people therefore lack documents and cannot access basic services, obtain official jobs, purchase land, build a home, or attend public school.
During the same years, the association also became acquainted with the Cambodian organization Kumnit Kumar Organization (KKO), which supports minors and families in conditions of extreme vulnerability and poverty. This led to the birth of the Child Sponsorship program for minors living in brick factories.
