Conclusion of the ISABEL project's distribution of equipments to targeted school
Mar 19 2025As part of the "ISABEL" project, on March 14 and 15, the distribution of books and equipment was carried out.
The distribution planned by the project, and carried out in the 4 municipalities of the Xin Man District, is aimed at improving the accessibility of schools for children with disabilities. Specifically, a total of seventeen sets of books and five sets of equipment have been distributed across five different municipalities (Nà Chi, Quäng Nguyên, Ban Diu, Ban Vè, and Trung Thinh) for primary schools, and four different municipalities for secondary schools (Na Chi, Quäng Nguyên, Ban Diu, Trung Thinh).
In order to promote the inclusion of children with disabilities, books and equipment have been carefully selected. Regarding the books, they are, for example, related to the specific disorders of the children involved in the project (such as autism, hyperactivity, attention deficit, cognitive disabilities) or the educational methods to be adopted for their support.
As for the equipment, on the one hand, it includes tools and machinery for physical activities (such as trampolines, exercise bikes, pull-up bars, punching bags, stationary pedals); on the other hand, it includes technological tools for carrying out educational activities (such as computers, printers, laminators).
Meanwhile, continuing with the goal of training and promoting the inclusion of children with disabilities, internships have been organized at the target schools for students from the Department of Special Education at the Hanoi National University of Education. The goal is for the interns to support the teachers at the target schools in various educational and recreational activities, applying the inclusive methodologies learned in their training. One of these interns is approaching the end of her internship, while two other students will begin soon.
Furthermore, after completing the training modules, site visits will be conducted to the homes of children with disabilities. The objectives of these visits are, first of all, to assess the living conditions in the homes of these children, and then to provide individual, case-specific advice to the families. Psychological aspects, as well as the desires and ambitions of the children and their parents for their future, will be analyzed. In this way, after addressing the specific needs of the families, the phase of distributing materials to the homes of children with disabilities will take place, providing materials that are functional for the well-being and cognitive development of the children.
