The first activities of the project responding to the climate emergency and Typhoon YAGI in the Xin Man district have begun! The project aims to rebuild 40 homes that were completely destroyed or rendered unsafe by storms and the typhoon that occurred between June and September 2024.

In November 2024, GTV received a list of 40 families from the Xin Man district authorities. Subsequently, GTV staff, accompanied by four young volunteers, visited each family to assess the extent of the damage, the level of urgency, and the plan for implementing support activities for each household. Beneficiary families were selected based on the severity of their economic and living conditions, prioritizing the most vulnerable households, such as single-parent families or elderly individuals. From the initial list, GTV identified 32 families that met these criteria.
In December 2024, GTV received an additional list of eight families affected by the climate emergency. Once again, GTV staff visited each family to ensure they met the established criteria.

Agreements were signed with all the families regarding the use of the materials they will receive in the coming months for the construction of their new homes.
