GOALS OF THE PROJECT:

The project “Paths to sustainability” wants to enhance the awareness of the citizenship of Trento regarding the theme of sustainable development and contributes to the diffusion of sustainable ways of production and consumption. Through different initiatives, during the period 2021 – 2022 GTV will organize programs in the schools, public events and awareness-raising  paths realised through images. We will develop many ideas and that will be possible thanks to our partnership with different realities that operates in Trento that will be able to speak about their experience and their history.


These are the themes that the project will face:

Sustainable Agriculture:
Food production and consumption that respect the environment and the people. We will talk about family-run sustainable agriculture which provides nutrition and incomes for farmers all over the world.

Water’s access and consumption:
We’ll analyse the current global inequalities regarding the access to this fundamental resource and we’ll see how to avoid its waste on our everyday life. We will also talk about the access to hygienic services which is essential in every part of the world.

Responsible tourism:
We will reflect about how our touristic choices can deeply impact the local communities involved and how certain types of tourism can represent a sustainable development resource and a cultural treasure for both the hosts and the travellers.

ACTIONS OF THE PROJECT: 

• World Global Citizenship Education projects in the schools
  GTV will create paths and programs in order to raise the student’s awareness on the fight against waste by reporting national and international examples and by promoting laboratories and other interactive activities. These paths will be adapted according to the age of the participants and the main themes will be responsible tourism, access to water and sanitation and sustainable agriculture.  
• Ideation, production and diffusion of outreach materials
  The goal is to raise the awareness of people on the fight against waste and the global interconnections and inequalities related to that. A specific communication campaign will be developed and materials will be shared on social media, on the web and also published on printed material in order to promote the project’s goals. Dossiers, magazines and web pages will be created and dedicated to the diffusion of data, graphics, multimedia materials and photos (realised during the photograph trainig course) about the project’s themes.
  
• Organization of outreach and in-depth events: 
  GTV will organize various moments addressing all the citizenship because of the importance of spreading the responsible consumption’s practices throughout our local community. There will be conferences where people will have the opportunity to explore the project’s themes through the analysis of some case studies, publications of photos and reports and discussions on everyday life practices that people can adopt in order to live in a more sustainable way.
  
• Photograph training course by Alberto Prina: 
  Communicating through photos and images is an important means to activate the people consciousness toward sustainable changes in their behaviours. For this reason, the project will highlight the photography as a means by which young people can raise the awareness of the population and the impact of the project on the city of Trento. A photographic training course for young people will be organized, the participants will be trained by a professional photographer that will explain them some photographic techniques and that will illustrate to them some successful sensibilisation campaigns which have been realised globally. At the end of the course, the participants will present some photographic reports related to the 3 macro-areas of the project. The final purpose of this part of the project is to realize a photographic exhibition in Trento, the generated materials will be shared in the communication campaign of the project.
