Visit to homes under reconstruction after Typhoon YAGI

Dic 09 2025

In July 2025, operators Elena Reato and Que Vo Thi Nguyet carried out a monitoring mission in Xin Man district. This mission was an important opportunity for the management and oversight of GTV’s projects.
Such site visits are essential for GTV, as they allow our operators to engage directly with the local communities where projects are realized, understand their needs, monitor outcomes, and establish new contacts.

During the mission, some of the families benefiting from the project “Response to the Climate Emergency and Typhoon YAGI in Xin Man District” were visited. One of the project’s main goals is to contribute to the reconstruction of 40 homes that were completely destroyed or rendered uninhabitable by the extreme weather events of last summer.

Some homes, such as that of Mr. Vàng Seo Pò, have already been fully completed. Seo Pò’s house, located in Thèn Phàng village, had become uninhabitable following the disasters of 2024, and his family needed to relocate to a safer area. Thanks to GTV’s support, Seo Pò and his family received the materials needed to build their new home. Unlike the previous one, this house is made of bricks, providing greater safety in case of future climate emergencies.
Seo Pò’s story is similar to that of Seo Dùng. His family also faced the urgent need to relocate to a safer area. After receiving construction materials at the beginning of 2025, their new home has already been completed. Other homes are still under construction, such as the house of Hoàng Seo Tin’s family in Trung Tinh village. The work is expected to be completed by the end of the summer. Seo Tin expressed his deep gratitude for being able to provide a safe roof for his family once again.

Overall, the project is progressing on schedule, and all beneficiaries met during the mission expressed their gratitude and satisfaction for this opportunity. In the coming months, our staff in Vietnam will continue to monitor the project’s outcomes.
