The project to support women farmers in the Xin Man district ended in August, with the third delivery of goats. The project involved around sixty women in various types of training courses, such as how to follow a balanced diet, agriculture, basic accounting and finally, animal husbandry. The last goats were distributed to the participants, two each. By delivering female goats it is hoped that we will be able to carry on this type of activity and extend it to other women too: in fact, the project was created along with Woman Union, with the idea that for every gestation of a goat, a kid is given to a new participant.
Finally, the success of this project could be seen already in spring, since right after the first distribution of animals, more were purchased by the women involved: in addition to the importance of breeding in the context of subsistence farming, the value of this project has to be measured counting also the significance of creating new economic activities.
